Students, parents and educators from Portsmouth Public Schools learned about integrated Digital Shipbuilding and Repair through interactive and engaging workshop rotations on June 1st!
The Digital Shipbuilding STEMpowerment workshop at ODU-VMASC fosters problem based learning/inquiry paradigms through navigation of hands-on manufacturing experiences and engineering design processes. The workshop empowers innovative, industry practices within the digital age utilizing real time data on the digital thread based on 3D design, modeling, printing, manufacturing, and virtual reality!
Winners of the engineering design challenge were from Waters Middle School- congratulations! The winning group chose an Evo Educator kit to be housed at Waters MS. Great job, everyone who attended!
The staff’s energy was infectious! I loved learning about the different technologies being used in the shipyards
